The MGB "Community Care Van Program" is a new, innovative mobile health program dedicated to increasing access to quality healthcare for historically marginalized communities in greater Boston and North Shore. The Medical Assistant (MA) is an integral member of the Community Care Van mobile health team that provides health services including including screening and treatment for hypertension, diabetes and substance use disorder. Under the direction of the Clinical Lead (NP) or other provider, the Medical Assistant is responsible for assisting with the evaluation, management, and treatment of patients who seek care at one of the mobile health clinics. His/her primary roles are to register patients in the electronic medical record system; to assure efficient patient flow; to assist providers within the scope of the MA skill set; to maintain neat, clean, and safe patient care areas, and to promote patient satisfaction by interacting with patients in a professional, friendly manner consistent with their needs. The Community Care Van clinics may be scheduled in the early evening and on occasional weekends to provide greater access for community members who work during the day.Qualifications REQUIRED• Strong communication skills. Sound judgment and problem-solving ability. • Solid computer skills which may be obtained through the job training. • Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks in a busy environment and see them through to completion. • Demonstrated interest in healthcare, including previous healthcare experience, education or certification. Examples include: experience as an EMT, home health aid, nursing assistant, and/or medical assistant.• Compliance with established risk management and safety procedures• Compliance with all local, state and federal privacy and confidentiality rules and regulations• Maintain or obtain CPR certification • High school diploma or GED equivalent • H.S.
