The RA assists Personal Care Residents with activities of daily living according to State regulations; assures a protective and watchful oversight; remains aware of residents' needs, whereabouts, state of health and daily functioning; and interacts with residents and families. Activities of daily living include, but are not limited to, medication assistance/administration, bathing, dressing, and grooming. Willing to learn additional skills as needed.ResponsibilitiesCore Responsibilites and Essential Functions Medication Assistance/Administration per State regulations* Storing medication and taking to resident at the prescribed times.* Proper documentation of medication assistance.* Interacting with doctors' offices and pharmacies to ensure proper and safe medication assistance.* Ability to maintain focus on medication assistance while dealing with outside distractions.* Be aware and observe for any side effects of medications. Maintain watchful oversight of residents.* Respond to and documentation of resident issues as they arise. (ie: falls, medical emergency, etc.)* Observe and interact with residents on a daily basis.* Interact with and keep famiies/sponsor informed of resident issues.* Be aware of resident whereabouts.* Interact with supportative agencies (ie: sitters, hospice, home health, etc.)* Participate in the formation of resident care plans, evaluation of cognitive status and ability to self- administer medications.
