Job DetailsJob Location: Washington, D.C. - Washington, DCPosition Type: Full TimeSalary Range: $45.00 - $65.00 HourlySenior Electrical Engineering SpecialistUrban Engineers is seeking qualified individuals in Washington to join the Construction Inspection Department as our Senior Electrical Engineering Specialist. This position will perform electrical submittal reviews and on-site construction inspection services for electrical systems at the Bladensburg Bus Garage Replacement project in Washington, DC. Responsibilities Communicate with the Project Manager (PM), Construction Manager (CM), and other contract staff, facility staff in person or via electronic devices. Interpret plans and specifications. Prepare written contract administration documentation such as daily work reports, daily time and material records, and other reports as requested. Identify potential issues and keep the PM/CM advised of impacts and resolutions. Prepare related sketches and documentation. Work the with Construction Manager to coordinate work with WMATA Facility staff as needed. Review electrical submittals for conformity to applicable codes and standards. Confirm electrical components are installed correctly and conform to applicable rules and regulations. Responsible for reviewing facility electrical work, including: Electrical distribution Communications systems Perform other duties as assigned. Requirements : Minimum 2 years of experience inspecting construction work varying in size (projects ranging from $400K to $5 million plus) and complexity (multiple crews and crew sizes per shift.) Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering is preferred. A Valid Driver's license is required. Possible night and weekend shift work, ability to stay late or come in early as needed. Willingness to learn and ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing. Trained in OSHA 10-hour construction safety. Knowledge of computer software, including Microsoft Office.
