Teaching 12 credits of graduate and undergraduate courses in early childhood education in the School of Teaching and Learning - COE. Teaching duties are performed on the main campus in Huntsville, at off-site teaching locations, and online. Supervise field experiences and work in yearlong residency. Will be expected to attend and participate in meetings and committees at the program, departmental, college, and university levels.Educational Requirements for the Position:M.Ed. in Education, Early Childhood Education, Curriculum & Instruction, Elementary Education, or closely related field. Candidates must have earned a minimum of 18 graduate hours in ECHE.Experience Required for the Position:Must hold or be eligible for state public school teaching certification and have a minimum of three (3) years documented experience as a certified teacher in early childhood (PK) - 3rd grade or early childhood - 6. Knowledge of standards and research-based curriculum and instruction in early childhood education with documented experience in data driven decision making, analysis, and assessment is required. Candidates should understand child development, birth-age 10, developmentally appropriate practices for young children in a variety of early care and educational settings. Experience working with field-based school/care sites is preferred. Documented experience teaching adult learners is preferred.
