**This position supports the Pain Management Clinic** **$3,000 SIGN ON BONUS** Position Summary The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) is responsible for assisting Physicians and/or Advanced Practice Providers in the clinic setting. Duties include: rooming patients, medical histories, completing thorough documentation in EMR, preparation/administration of injections, patient phone calls, assisting with procedures, including the application and removal of casts and fitting and educating use of Durable Medical Equipment (DME). Assists in general maintenance of equipment, supplies, and exam rooms. Essential Job Functions/Accountabilities Greets patients, completes check-in process, and answers patients general questions. Answers telephone calls and schedules office and follow-up appointments. Obtains & processes referrals. Prepares charts for new patients/pulls charts for upcoming established patient visits. Ensures that proper patient forms are complete, current, and entered into the computer. Responsible for locating medical charts as needed, as well as chart filing and purging. Checks charts for progress notes and stat orders, prepares charge tickets and acts on any stat orders. Runs charge tickets and patient specific forms. Processes medical records requests. Tracks and documents no-show patients. Monitors patient waiting area/makes coffee/straightens up area if needed. Collects co-pays/POA, etc. and balances cash drawer. Gathers information for outside testing if required. Obtains authorizations from insurance companies for testing and injections. Provides back-up coverage and assists in daily office routine when needed in other areas. Monitors and maintains front office equipment; Orders office supplies, orthopaedic/medical equipment, and supplies. Cleans, sterilizes, and stocks/maintains examination rooms and equipment. Maintains cleanliness of all clinical areas and exam rooms; restocks and orders supplies within budgetary constraints; checks and cleans equipment, makes minor adjustments, reports need for repair or maintenance to manager. Assists physicians and/or physicians assistant with special procedures, gathers necessary equipment of instruments, positions patient and responds to instructions given by physician or physicians assistant. Prepares X-rays orders per physician protocol, and directs or transports patient to Radiology. Prepares laboratory requisitions, arranges for transport of specimens to laboratory as appropriate. Removal of sutures, staples, dressing and wraps; application and removal of casts and splints. Application and patient education on DME. Preparation and drawing up of injections. Phone in prescription and document in patient record per physician order. Gathers necessary data and instructional materials for discharged patients, ensures that patient is aware of any necessary follow-up appointment times and locations. Makes sure patients x-ray films are transported to the follow up location in a timely manner so they are there for the patients follow up visit. Patient education on physicians plan of care (hand-outs/return demonstration etc.). Ensures charge tickets are marked appropriately for injection and/or equipment and supplies are given to patient. Attends in-services and departmental meetings. All other duties not specifically assigned. Position Summary The Billing and Chart Finalization RN is responsible for overseeing all surgical billing functions. Essential Job Junctions/Accountabilities Ascertains operative record data and performs data entry for electronic health record: Case Management and Finalization; operates PC to enter all information system data, patients billing data and edits as necessary; ascertains and verifies billing process for all items on operative record; verifies data entry, checks and corrects edit errors. Logs all bone/allograft information in electronic medical records including serial number, lot number, and expiration date for implant log and tracking purposes. Keeps accurate records of implantable items (implant log) with proper serial numbers and/or model numbers, lot numbers, and expiration date-if needed. Interfaces with all vendors and Material Manager ensuring all implants are billed correctly; assists with implant inventory procurement; maintains a positive working relationship with vendor representatives; works side by side with purchasing on vendor price process. Ensures billing of all surgical cases occur within forty eight hours; provides daily patient charge review and reconciles charges; assists CBO with billing questions and issues; identifies price charges that may impact patient charges. Ensures all data entry and charge entry errors are corrected with appropriate follow up with Material Manager and staff; assists with daily report on charting errors, documents wasted implants and their associated costs. Develops and maintains positive work relationships with managers, physicians, staff and others. Maintains cosmetic spread sheet for CBO. All other duties not specifically assigned.
