Position Summary The Student Nurse Technician supports the patient care team by performing multifunctional activities such as direct patient care (under the direction of a Registered Nurse), day-to-day upkeep of the Nursing Units, OR, and patient discharges. Demonstrates competency in basic nursing practice required to manage and provide total patient care through the application of CCOCs philosophy, policies and procedures; Demonstrates knowledge and skill in providing treatment. Maintains accountability while delegating nursing care responsibilities according to patient care needs and staff competencies; Demonstrates and promotes effective management skills and contributes to the efficient operation of the unit; Assumes leadership role as necessary; Provides staff orientation, training, instruction, guidance, and supervision as necessary; Acts as a role model by maintaining positive behaviors when interacting with patients, visitors and other members of health care team. Transcribes orders and performs other clerical duties as necessary. Ensures Hourly Patient Rounding is incorporated in to the daily Patient Care routine; Participates in ongoing evaluation to ensure quality nursing care. All other duties not specifically assigned. Position Requirements Education: N/A Experience: Three (3) to Five (5) years of demonstrated experience in field or profession preferred. Technical Skills: N/A Certifications/Licenses/Registrations: Current and valid license to practice as registered nurse in the State of Ohio; BLS required within 3 months of hire; ACLS required within 1 year of hire.
