Get more details below!Worksite Location: Detroit Lakes, MNCompensation: $27.60 - $33.50 an hourWhat you'll do as a Payroll Accountant:Manage end-to-end payroll processing for employees, including data entry, verification, and distribution of paychecks or electronic transfersCalculate and process employee wages, bonuses, commissions, and other compensation accurately and timelyEnsure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll tax regulations, including filing payroll tax returns and remitting paymentsReconcile payroll transactions and resolve any discrepancies or issues promptlyMaintain accurate records of employee information, earnings, deductions, and benefitsRespond to employee inquiries regarding payroll matters, including tax withholdings, deductions, and pay discrepanciesCollaborate with HR and finance departments to ensure alignment between payroll and personnel recordsGenerate payroll reports and analyses as needed for management and regulatory purposesStay informed about changes in payroll laws, regulations, and best practices, and implement necessary updates to processes and proceduresAssist with year-end payroll activities, including W-2 preparation and distribution What you'll bring to the Payroll Accountant role:Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related fieldProven experience as a Payroll Accountant or similar role, with a strong understanding of payroll principles and practicesProficiency in payroll software and systems, such as ADP, Paychex, or similar platformsKnowledge of federal, state, and local payroll tax regulations and reporting requirementsStrong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on accuracy and attention to detailExcellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environmentAbility to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environmentHigh level of discretion and integrity when handling confidential informationFamiliarity with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle)
