Position Overview We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Electrical Engineer with a strong background in light-wave telecommunications and high voltage systems. Job Description Programming and troubleshooting of PLC and HMI programs using Rockwell RSLogix/Studio 5000, Rockwell PLC's 500 and Safety PLC's. Also, the high-speed motion, and positional controls using VFD's, DC, and Servos drives. Defining system architecture, component selection of PLCs, HMIs, Sensors (optical, proximity, ultrasonic), VFD & Servo drives and safety hardware. Update and integrate the plant-wide PLC and controls as needed. Understand and maintain the electrical portion of the manufacturing equipment in the factory, including PLC's, drive systems and controls, gauges, instrumentation. Provide calibration procedures and instructions for the above equipment. Assist Electricians, Technicians and Process engineers with troubleshooting production lines electrical and process problems. Support SubCom Quality and Manufacturing metrics goals. Maintain Manufacturing Equipment and Systems: Understand and maintain the electrical portion of the manufacturing equipment in the factory, including drive systems and controls, gauges, instrumentation, networked data acquisition equipment, and splice machines. Position Overview Optical Transmission System Test Engineer to define, plan, and execute test programs in support of the development and delivery of undersea optical transmission systems. The person will run transmission experiments over prototypes of long-haul fiber optic systems for validation and evaluation purposes. This work will also involve experimental programs to qualify designs and design processes for new systems and upgrades to installed fiber-optic systems. All aspects of optical communications will need to be covered in such work. Some travel will be required for field work. Key technologies driving the measurement programs are DWDM transmission, coherent detection transmission at rates above 100 Gb/s, optical amplifiers, nonlinear optical transmission in fibers, optical polarization effects, and OADM systems. Responsibilities Knowledge requied in optical transmission testing and optical component characterization, including optical gain and loss, OSNR, PMD, PDL, dispersion, nonlinear processes such as four-wave mixing, Raman gain, Brillouin scattering, BER, OSNR, eye diagrams, and related measurements. Candidate must be able to develop and use computer-aided test processes, and be able to analyze the results of his/her measurements. Candidate must be able to define test proposals and negotiate changes with the data customer, and write clear reports of the work done. Strong laboratory, analytic, and communication skills are preferred, and the candidate must be able to work both as a team leader or a contributing member of a team. Qualifications M. Sc. or Ph. Job Description In addition, the role of a Quality Engineer is also to ensure Continuous Process Improvement and maximize customer satisfaction for internal and external customers. This will involve collecting, analyzing, and reporting KPI data for our manufacturing processes. Of key importance is the ability to quickly identify and correct negative trends. This position will work closely and collectively with Engineering, Operations, Lean Operating Systems, Project Management, R&D, and Corporate Quality to achieve these goals. Responsibilities and Duties: Responsible for defining and control of the vendor qualification process. Demonstrated expertise in quality tools, practices and procedures. Fully conversant with QMS principals, certified as a quality Auditor is preferred. Experience in auditing both internal processes/systems as well as auditing of suppliers. Working knowledge of concepts of probability and statistics as well as aide in updating/establishing SPC studies.
