This person must be able to exhibit the flexibility required to handle all segments of the Marina Office and assist the General Manager/AGM as needed. Andon behalf of the General Manager/AGM in his/her stead. The Dockmaster is responsible for the compilation and reporting of all facets of the Marina's Houseboat, Small Boat, and Fuel Dock and General Accounting performance. This person will also be one of the individuals first seen and greeted by the public, so public relations will need to be a strong asset of the Dockmaster.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSProviding clerical support for all sectors of the Marina.Perform administrative duties (i.e., correspondence, messages, memos, telephone contacts, etc.) for Marina General Manager.Maintain a rental inventory for wet slips and dinghy storage - including archiving and new boat records for customer file maintenance changes.Assist in special projectsCompleting daily reports and Marina operations, including, checklists, sales, rental billingMaintain account records and files.Create and maintain a monthly schedule for dock personnel adhering to payroll budget and eliminating overtime.Direct supervision of all dock personnel on a daily basis, covering breaksWork in tandem with Lead Mechanic and Housekeeping Supervisor to ensure that boats are kept to LRA and GSI standards.Adjust docks daily, monitor and direct to subordinates or repair damaged components.Work with Moorage Specialist to ensure the Marina House Moorage Rules are adhered to.Field and address tenant complaints working with General Manager/AGM to resolve as neededAny other duties as assigned by the General Manager/AGMSKILL AND KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTSThe Dockmaster should be a person who has had experience in general Office procedures and has worked with the public in some form or another. Experience within the Marina Industry does not have to be a qualification but would help and those with experience are preferred. This person will have to show initiative to help organize and maintain and organize working atmosphere within the Marina Office. A valid Driver's License and Boaters Education Card is REQUIRED for this position.PHYSICAL AND MENTAL REQUIREMENTSMoving about on foot to accomplish tasks, particularly frequent movements from place to place within the unit. Bend, lift, carry, reach/extend arms and hands above shoulder height frequently, or otherwise move in a constantly changing environment. Lifting, carrying, and pushing up to 25 lbs. regularly, 30-35 lbs. frequently, and up to 50 lbs. occasionally.Ability to stand for the entire work day. Climbing steps regularly. Responsible for obtaining quality GNSS data in the field for the purpose of supplementing and enhancing GIS and related systems of record. Responsible for mentoring and training GIS Specialists on GNSS Technology. Responsible for assisting users and other GIS Specialists with GNSS equipment issues, as well as monitoring reporting metrics. Responsible for proactively engaging with the business on introductory GIS training, to include training on all GIS products and tools made available to end users (e.g., web maps), as well as any initial and/or refresher GNSS training. Adhere to and supports standard operating procedures and GNSS best practices. Continue to develop expertise in GIS. Participate in workshops, training, or vendor presentations introducing new and evolving GIS and GNSS technology. Assist in development of GIS standard practices and procedures. Participate in user committees within AW for sharing GIS expertise. Proactively provides active feedback to state GIS lead, as well as providing and soliciting input and feedback from other team members. Performs other related duties as assigned. Knowledge/Skills Ability to review and identify missing, incorrect, or questionable input source GIS data, as well as identify and repair quality issues within existing GIS data. Ability to conduct thorough reviews and evaluations, render and implement timely decisions and recommendations. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to handle multiple projects and deadlines. Proficient level of understanding of water and wastewater network structures and can apply that knowledge to creating and maintaining American Water GIS data. Solid foundation of GIS methodologies, ESRI software, geocoding techniques, data model formats, and data conversion practices. Knowledge of GIS workflows, including desktop mapping, editing, and web and database applications. Proficient understanding of GNSS technology, workflows, and best practices. Familiarity with working in a versioned geometric network environment. Proficient level of understanding of how to interpret and process a variety of source GIS inputs, to include GNSS data, construction as-builts (CAD and PDF), field sketches/comments (web submitted, paper, and/or verbal), and tabular data. Knowledge of Esri ArcGIS suite of Products, specifically ArcMap and/or ArcGIS Pro with a focus on creating and editing GIS data. Knowledge of GNSS Technology, specifically EOS and/or Trimble products. Experience/Education Associate's degree or related experience. Minimum 3 years' experience with GNSS/GIS.
