TITLE: Principal Software Engineer ILOCATION: Englewood, ColoradoJOB SUMMARY: Lead the PIES support and core teams by providing technical leadership and expertise. Assist with complete support requests. Engineer, build, and manage the Software Development and IT (SDIT) continuous integration infrastructure on Jenkins and Gitlab. Lead the development team responsible for building deployment automation tools for SDIT clients. Lead the team responsible for building automations to install, upgrade, and administer PAAS (Platform as a Service) tools within SDIT. Leverage Helm, an open-source tool, to automatically deploy container-based software stacks within Kubernetes to provide container orchestration. Lead the support team from a technical perspective in technologies including Amazon Web Services (industry-available cloud-based Infrastructure as a Service), VMWare (industry-available open-source operating system), Atlassian Bitbucket (industry-available code repository), JFrog Artifactory (industry-available artifacts management system), and Atlassian Crowd (industry-available authentication and authorization provider). Supervises one Systems Engineer I; one Systems Engineer II; and two Systems Engineer III positions.EDUCATION/REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's degree (or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field. 5 years of experience architecting, deploying, and managing build and continuous integration infrastructure using Jenkins and related software plugins; and administering, deploying, and configuring Linux operating systems. 4 years of experience performing Amazon Web Services architecture and management; automating the deployment of infrastructure and tools to reduce the manual work involved in deploying new software applications and versions; scripting using Groovy and YAML; and implementing automated deployment tools using Python. 2 years of experience performing Internet Protocol (IP) Networking, utilizing firewalls, and AWS software-defined networking.
