Job Summary: Hands-on designer responsible for creating electro-mechanical systems in Solidworks for liquid cooling system products. This person would work with a team of refrigeration, mechanical, electrical and manufacturing engineers to bring the new product though its full product development process, which includes early concept thru production support. The person will own the design throughout the entire specification, design, build, and test process. The candidate is responsible for sheet metal design, selecting fittings, tubing, hardware and other components, and create all detail drawings. The person would work with the engineering team debugging build issues with the product and implementing redlines into design. The mechanical designer will be responsible for ensuring the product's enclosure and layout meets the specification requirements, is manufacturable and serviceable, while working with the team to deliver on schedule and on budget.Job Location: Woburn, MAReports To: VP Engineering - SystemsEssential Duties & Responsibilities:Develop a mechanical and electrical design in Solidworks from rough sketches, design concepts, verbal instructions, customer drawings, etc., with minimal engineering supervision. This includes sheet metal design for the products product specifications. Evaluate trade-offs between performance/functionality, quality, cost and schedule. Ensure that cost, performance and schedule goals are achieved.
