Patient populations consist of general medical and surgical conditions that require inpatient services and also serves as a step down unit when necessary. Direct nursing care is provided by Registered Nurses and Clinical Associates. The patient population consists of, but is not limited to, diabetes, respiratory illness, oncology, general and neurological surgeries, intestinal disorders, seizures, infectious disease, cardiac abnormalities and trauma. This position is full time, working the day/evening/night shift (mostly night shift) with every other weekend and rotating holidays Successful candidate MUST BE able to attend required orientation classes during day time hours, Monday through Friday, from 8 am to 5 pm for the first 2 weeks. They serve as the alternate unit for operative stroke patients as well as other surgery patients, including general surgery. This position is full time, working the day shift with every other weekend and rotating holidays Successful candidate MUST BE able to attend required orientation classes during day time hours, Monday through Friday, from 8 am to 5 pm for the first 2 weeks. These classes are mandatory! At least two classes are being conducted online, but the rest of them will require you to attend classes in person in Roanoke, VA.
