Follow nursing and laboratory policies and procedures. Intraoperative tasks: Must receive training for conscious sedation administration. Review patient's pre-procedure paperwork and initiate time outs when assigned to the procedure lab. Under the direction and supervision of the physician, provide mild to moderate sedation and continuous monitoring of patient status. Post-operative tasks: Recover patients after their procedure including assessing their access site, peripheral vascular status, pain level, and vital signs. Ensure documentation is clearly written, accurate, and thorough. Provide patient education and discharge instructions. Maintain communication with full-time nursing staff regarding patient satisfaction and nursing supplies needed.
