SUMMARY OF FUNCTIONS:The Credit Administration Assistant will be responsible for preparing loan portfolio reports and serve as a back-up to the closing specialist and review loan documentation packages for accuracy before processing the corresponding loans.Additionally, the individual will underwrite credit requests and prepare a credit analysis report on domestic and foreign loans. Initially, the employee will be assigned basic loan requests that represent minimal risk to the Bank and as the employee progresses in mastering the credit underwriting function, the junior analyst will engage in preparing analysis of higher complexity. The employee is expected to reach a full knowledge of credit underwriting before being promoted to the next level position. The employee is expected to study the Bank's loan policies and follow these guidelines when exerting the functions. The incumbent is expected to cross-train and learn other duties managed by the credit departments as assigned by the supervisor.PRINCIPAL DUTIES: A. Prepares on a monthly, quarterly, or annual basis a variety of reports submitted to Head Office, Management, and RegulatorsB. Serve as a back-up to the closing specialist and review loan documentation packages for accuracy before processing the corresponding loans.C. Prepares credit analysis reports for use by lending officers and the Bank's respective Credit Committees for their consideration to approve or deny credit facilities for domestic and foreign corporations and individuals. To accomplish this function, the analyst will:o Gather and maintain financial information up to date on current and prospective customers along with monitoring current events relating to the Bank's loan portfolio.o Verify that the required audit level for financial information submitted by the borrowers conforms to Bank's policy.o Spreads into the corresponding programs the financial statements and/or tax returns submitted by the borrower or prospect client.o Analyzes financial ratios derived from the spreading of the financial informationo Review the comparative spreads of borrower's and peer group's ratios and draw appropriate conclusions.o Run and analyze appropriate credit reference reports such as Tri-Merge credit reports, DNB, and any other available credit reports.o Run and analyze background check reports such as OFACS, Google search, county records and any other available public site.o Assign the corresponding NAICS code to the borrower's business and study the industry in which it operates.o Requests and reviews credit references from other Lenders and other available informational sourceso If applicable, for CRE loans, confirm the Bank's collateral position by researching county and state's sites to ascertain that no liens precede the Bank approved position.o Provides preliminary assessment as to whether a proposed or existing loan is within established credit policy guidelines.o Prepares credit analysis reports by presenting facts and offers reasoned opinions in respect to the credit condition of the applicants/borrowers being reviewed.o Prepares Power Points to present credit proposals to the Credit Committee.D.
