Find your future with us.The Boeing Company is seeking a Software Engineering Mid-Level Manager for the MQ-25 Program to lead a team of Vehicle Management Systems (VMS) software activities in Hazelwood, MO. The successful candidate will have a passion for working with people and for delivering exceptional products and services to our customers. The team works closely with other MQ-25 teams to successfully deliver a quality product. This position in the software organization will align with Air Dominance VMS Software Team. The MQ-25 is a new unmanned aircraft system designed to provide the U.S. Navy with a much-needed robust refueling capability. The MQ-25 will allow for better use of combat strike fighters by extending the range of deployed Boeing F/A-18 Super Hornet, Boeing EA-18G Growler, and Lockheed Martin F-35C aircraft. The MQ-25 will also seamlessly integrate with a carrier's catapult and launch and recovery systems. The VMS Software Team is responsible for the development and maintenance of flight and subsystem control software for the MQ-25. The successful candidate will work with an existing team of real-time embedded software engineers; guidance, navigation and control (GNC) engineers; and hardware engineers to develop safety critical software. VMS software integrates flight control laws, aircraft surface command, aircraft sensor signal processing and subsystem control to ensure controlled flight. The software developed will include application layer software and low-level infrastructure software which will require close collaboration with hardware/firmware vendors. This position will manage the full software development lifecycle; including requirements development, design, code, desktop test, lab test and support of flight test.This position is designed to directly support the MQ-25 program, but will be structurally aligned to Boeing Enterprise Software organization, reporting to the Air Dominance VMS software senior manager.Position Responsibilities:Manage software engineers through the software development life-cycleProvide leadership focused on the development of individuals' skills and abilities so that they can fulfill current or future job/role responsibilitiesDevelops and maintains relationships and partnerships with peers, business partners, customers, and other stakeholdersTakes a collaborative approach to develop and execute project and process plans, implement policies and procedures, and develop and maintain roadmapsAcquires resources for projects and processes and provides oversight and approval of technical approaches in alignment with organizational strategyDemonstrate a commitment to the mission and motivation to combine the team's energy and expertise to achieve a common objectiveUnderstand the dynamics of effective teamwork in order to attain higher levels of performance.
