Design, build, test, implement, maintain, and optimize the network, telecommunications, desktop, and mobility system infrastructure and operations. Monitor and optimize the performance of operating systems and applications. Diagnose system failures and take corrective action. Use strong client service orientation to ensure all requests and problems are resolved. Coordinate and work on multiple cross-functional initiatives and projects as a technical lead or advisor. Develop/build highly complex systems that may have system-wide impact, integrate across the organization, and involve multiple technical environments and disciplines. Participate in short- and long-term planning efforts with stakeholders and IT groups. Develop cost/time estimates. Identify and communicate how IT solutions can support the achievement of short- and long-range business goals. Develop the prioritization of requirements and match resources with requirements. Work with business analysts, Architecture, and stakeholders to understand business needs. Lead the evaluation of technical requirements for projects to determine the impact to the infrastructure. Determine systems specifications, input/output processes and working parameters for hardware/software compatibility. Assist in the business process redesign and documentation for new technology as needed. Lead, create, and collaborate with cross functional teams to develop design documents that can be implemented. Participate in technical design review of applicable projects. Develop custom integration solutions. Lead the design and implementation of security solutions. Ensure the integrity of host computers, multiple databases and secure data transfer. Direct efforts to demonstrate that information systems are compliant with appropriate corporate policies, industry standards, government regulations, and contractual requirements. Identify discrepancies resulting from security audits, develops plans for corrective actions and tracks actions to closure. Establish requirements, methods and procedures for routine maintenance. Lead or provide technical direction for the planning, designing, and execution of testing efforts. Ensure that tests evaluate all possible impacts on the current infrastructure or application. Coordinate and lead the deployment and review of new, modified or enhanced system components or services. Certify the functionality of components and services. Develop and maintain metrics around the system and institute a process for continuous improvement. Perform periodic reviews with users and vendors. Define and ensure continuous monitoring procedures are set according to the standard procedures and requirements. Coordinate problem resolution among a variety of functional areas and provide subject matter expertise support for diagnosing and resolving problem. Provide guidance to other team members. Lead the development of contingency plans including reliable backup and restore procedures. Identify business continuity/disaster recovery risks and mitigation plans. Support and establish systems environment standards. Ensure compliance with policies, procedures and standards. Work with vendors to resolve problems. Ensure that external parties are adhering to contract requirements. Evaluate vendor solutions to ensure compliance with requirements and cost-effectiveness. Develop SLAs for external relationships. Provide technical leadership, coaching and mentoring to team members. Develop reports and presentations for senior management, as needed. Provide performance feedback to managers, as needed. Recommend training programs targeting specific areas of improvement. Other duties may be assigned. "Qualifications" EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE Bachelor's degree in relevant field preferred. 7 years of relevant IT work experience required. Relevant certification is required. Demonstrate in-depth knowledge of broad range hardware and software products. OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES Knowledge of major products and services and product and service groups Ability to apply this knowledge appropriately to diverse situations.
