Job Description:Mars Wrigley - TNN Site Chattanooga, TN LifeSaver Mints Press Room OperatorA Shift (12 Hour Day Shift) 2-2-3 Shift Rotation*$1,500 Sign On Bonus for external hires only*The LSM Press Operator is responsible for the operation of the high speed Press line. The LSM Press Operator will perform all jobs throughout the Press Line to provide direction, communication and support to all the line associates and leadership in order to meet line requirements. The LSM Press Room Operator is responsible for performing all duties while adhering to The Five (5) Principles of Mars at all times.The LSM Press Room Operator will safely and efficiently make LifeSaver mints. The LSM Press Room Operator is responsible for operating automated and/or manual manufacturing equipment used to press mints following the established manufacturing procedures with exactness. They will complete two-hour quality checks while also maintaining production targets in processing. The job exists to fulfil customer requirements for all LifeSaver mints. Operators are also responsible for on time and accurate hourly quality checks, escalation for downtime, and maintenance of equipment.Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:-Following all safety procedures and working safely at all times to ensure the safety of themselves and the rest of the team. Such safety programs include, but are not limited to, strict adherence to the LOTO (Lock-Out Tag-Out) policies, proper PPE, monthly safety meetings, and DSTS (Daily Safety Trigger System).-Performing all necessary Quality checks, at the specified intervals, to ensure that only quality products are being made. Other quality responsibilities include making sure that materials are in good shape, proper materials are used and GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) are always followed. Proper documentation and accurate paperwork is essential.-Following standard operating procedures while running all equipment associated with the processing area in order to meet the OEE and volume targets. Primary production responsibilities will also include relieving associates for breaks so that equipment continues running. Proper and efficient changeovers are also a key responsibility of the incumbent. Communication skills are essential for helping the department and line work at an optimal level.-Training associates on the equipment, processes and TPM methodology for the area.-Strict adherence to OPRP / GMP / food safety programs.-Incumbent's Line Lead may require specific assignments or tasks away from incumbent's designated job. Duties may include, but are not limited to cleaning and lubrication of equipment that is scheduled down, department 5S, equipment deep cleaning, equipment ownership, tool cleaning, and cleaning within the production areas.1. 70% Operation of the Processing Line2. 20% Quality Checks and Documentation3. 10% General HousekeepingWe are looking for candidates who are good standing in their current positions, self-starters with little directions from others, good time management, and have skills/experience that would support these activities. Candidates should have the following qualifications:A minimum requirement for this position is to have a high school diploma, or equivalent.This position requires an individual who possesses a minimum of one year of experience in a highly automated manufacturing environment. Incumbent must have demonstrated experience in effective communication, leadership, basic math, familiarity with operating a computer and MS Office, and problem solving / trouble shooting skills.
