GCOM is looking for candidates, to fill a role of UX/ Product Designerto join our NYC Fire Department (FDNY) Team located in Brooklyn, NY (Hybrid).Key Responsibilities: FDNY is looking for a UX/Product Designer to join the BTDS application development team to help shape the vision for our products and drive cohesive narratives across multiple platforms and touch points. You will partner with other members, engineers, and business partners to create amazing user experiences that engage, enlighten and transforms our customer's journey.Qualifications: 6+ years of experience designing responsive web applications and/or mobile-first applications.A comprehensive understanding of UX Design and best practices.Experience designing using either Figma or Moqups.A portfolio of work listed on your resume that showcases your problem-solving process along with finished design work.Desired Qualifications: Ability to collaborate cross-functionally, translating complex research, data, and customer strategies into innovative end-to-end experience design concepts that consider all customer touch points and channels.Ability to lead a large-scale initiative, prioritizing work accordingly and taking ownership of completion.Ability to create overall IA, user stories, workflows, wireframes, clickable prototypes, and final visual designs. Ability to think conceptually and systematically, considering the 'big picture' and designing for scalability while ensuring quality and detail at a granular level.Sharp written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present a rationale for design decisions to senior leadershipExperience with HTML and CSS.Understanding of design decisions and its impact on application development.Ability to design vector graphics using Illustrator or similar tools.Thrive in a fast-paced agile environment founded on strong analytical and communication skills.The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions. This includes, but is not limited to: skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, and geographic location. At GCOM, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case.
