The position is based in Ann Arbor, MI.This is an opportunity to learn about the AEC industry through direct, hands-on experience. The candidate (that's you, dear reader) will help the senior mechanical engineer (that's me) perform "important" calculations, prepare construction documents, and decide what to eat for lunch. A typical day might include A LOT of mouse clicking, a field-trip to a water treatment facility, or learning all about sodium hypochlorite. Calamity will ensue, but at least one free muffin is guaranteed. Your Role: Be open to learning about the MEP industry, specifically the water and waste water market sectors. Gain experience referencing applicable codes and standards. Perform design calculations. Organize unit standards (this is the only boring task, I promise) Model building systems in 3D using AutoDesk Revit. Collaborate and coordinate with other members of the Mechanical Team. Accompany the senior engineer to the field, including active construction sites. This is an on-site role. You do have to come to the office everyday. Senior Mechanical Engineer

Be part of a multi-disciplinary team working on signature projects that matter.Your Role Lead mechanical design on a variety of projects, from concept phase through construction. Our projects span commercial, federal, municipal, and industrial sectors, including water and wastewater treatment plants. Perform HVAC load calculations, energy models, life cycle cost analysis, and ventilation calculations in compliance with applicable codes and energy efficiency standards. Size equipment and develop layouts for airside and hydronic systems. Developing specifications using MasterSpec Coordinate with other disciplines, internal teams, and external stakeholders (vendors, clients, and contractors). Qualifications Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering (BSME) required. 15+ years in mechanical design, specifically related to design and construction documentation for mechanical, plumbing and performance-based fire protection systems in new and existing facilities. Working knowledge of REVIT and AutoCad systems. Comprehensive understanding of ICC building codes, ASHRAE design manuals and guides, and USGBC LEED requirements, specifically for new or existing facilities. Ability to provide hands-on design and design team leadership on commercial, federal, and municipal projects. Detailed knowledge of building mechanical equipment including fans, chillers, cooling towers, air handlers, chilled and hot water loops, boilers, motors, pumps, variable speed drives, direct digital temperature controls and building automation systems. Plumbing and/or performance fire-protection experience also desired.
