Bridge Engineer Career Area: Engineering - Civil What We're Looking For: This Bridge Engineer position will report to the regional Bridge Practice Leader and will work on various types of bridge projects and help to develop innovative practical solutions to various structural design challenges. This role is responsible for performing challenging bridge design and analysis tasks as well as other structural engineering tasks for bridge systems and components. Structural Engineer (PE) Career Area: Engineering - Structural What We're Looking For: Barge Design Solutions is currently seeking to fill the position of Structural Engineer (PE) in one of our Tennessee, Georgia, Florida, Alabama, or Ohio locations. Remote work may also be available for this role.Responsibilities for this position include:Serves as the technical structural lead and engineer of record for a variety of projects including: Industrial, Commercial, Federal, Water/Wastewater, and Environmental projects.Directs BIM technicians and Structural Designers in preparation of project plans. Job ResponsibilitiesMeets daily with project crews to review production schedule and confirm all materials, equipment and resources are readily available for production to continue on schedule and within budget.Collects, coordinates and analyzes shop drawings, design specifications, material requirements and project data through the duration of the project to ensure quality and contract specification compliance.Provides technical input for project work plan and scheduling. Identifying risk elements of production, materials, equipment or process that could negatively impact the budget or schedule.Check technical drawings for accuracy and coordinate with technical designers to execute and update.Receives and creates RFIs based on field issues or document discrepancies; reviews with the project team; and forwards to the design team.Reviews submittals for compliance with plans and specifications and other construction documents; marks, stamps, and transmits information to the Operation Team.Returns reviewed submittals and maintains log (tracking outstanding submittals, rejected submittals, etc.).Maintains well organized file (hard or electronic) of all submittals for reference throughout projectNotifies team members and managers of any significant Design changes and recommends solutions for management consideration.Perform additional assignments per management's direction.Reviews project specifications for quality assurance at the beginning of work, during the project work and after work is completed. Initiates and manages appropriate certificates, inspections and other documentation regarding construction production on the project site.Assists the estimating team with project schedules and provides technical input as needed.Assists the development of design drawings and provides technical input, as needed.Contributes to a positive team environment and proactively aids team members with difficult contacts as needed.QualificationsBachelor's Degree in civil engineering, construction management or a related field required.3+ years of construction engineering, scheduling or design experience requiredEIT Certification Preferred.Intermediate knowledge of scheduling processes and industry best practices.Intermediate interpersonal relationship skills, building new positive relationships towards a common goal.Software Proficiency: Office 365, Bluebeam, AutoCad (basic).Knowledge of construction equipment & techniques, drawing & specifications, building materials and required standards applicable to the project. Ability to assume responsibility, interface and communicate effectively with others.Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently and effectively in a fast-paced environment.Demonstrates effective, clear and professional written and oral communication.Proven self-starter and self-motivated to learn and grow knowledge.Annual Salary - $100,000-$130,000 DOE(Actual compensation is subject to variation due to such factors as education, experience, and skillset)
