Wharton-Smith, Inc is currently seeking an experienced Project Manager with Commercial background for our Pensacola office. In this role, the successful candidate will be responsible for the completion of Commercial construction projects in the NW Florida area.Primary Responsibilities:Build strong relationships with clients/owners, architects, engineers, and subcontractors.Ensure they will want to renew the construction experience with Wharton-Smith (Doer/Seller Model).Maintain a positive image of the company with clients, vendors, subcontractors, and team members.Set up and maintain project cost accounting.Develop and maintain job schedule for the project.Partner with Preconstruction Services regarding value engineering/constructability, soliciting bidders, estimating assistance and generating proposals.Develop a Schedule of Values and generate monthly payment applications.Negotiate major subcontractor agreements and equipment/material purchase orders.Facilitate subcontractor and owner coordination/progress meeting and document meeting minutes.Review and approve subcontractor pay applications and vendor invoices.Track and evaluate subcontractor change management.Monitor the submittal, shop drawing, and purchase order process to insure accurate and timely delivery of equipment and materials.Manage execution of contracts, bonds, insurance certificates, contract compliance, and warranties.Monitor budgets, schedules, cost reports and job progress and review with Superintendent on a weekly basis.Manage change orders, extra work orders, disputed claims, with owner and owner's representatives to a successful conclusion.Resolve major disputes with vendors and subcontractors.Manage startup and commissioning of facility, where applicable.Provide owner training to the end user and turn-over contract close-out deliverables.Review and report project financial information, performance and any major conflicts to be resolved with Division Manager.Requirements: Engaging leader and team player with five plus years of experience in engineering, commercial construction, or related field.Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or other relevant degree.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Preferences/Competencies:Good organizational skillsGood management & communication skillsComputer Applications Experience: Microsoft Office Applications - Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, BluebeamPrimavera Project Planning (P6)

Responsibilities Setup, troubleshooting, and maintenance of assigned equipment and machinery including but not limited to presses, mills, downstackers, and uncoilers. Oversees roll forming lines setup including mill gapping, adjusting guides, adjusting press and feeder speeds Read part prints and adjust equipment to make part to print Identify damaged and worn components Make improvement recommendations to Engineering Uncoiler operation Adjustment and operation of steel straightener Adjustment and operation of feeder Adjustment and operation of lubrication system Adjustment and operation of press Adjustment and operation of conveyors Operation of mill Gapping of mill Adjustments of mill to meet profile Adjustment and operation of guide systems Adjustment and operation of down stacker systems Assist in product changeovers Read prints and verify part to print Understanding of rollforming and roll tooling Dissassembly and reassembly of roll stands Ability to align roll tooling Other duties as assigned by managment. Training is required for controlled shutdowns, emergency shutdowns, lock out tag out, and crane use. After completion of training the employee is responsible for these procedures when required or necessary. Responsible for some mechanical repairs or assist maintenance in repairs Utilize hand and power tools, cranes, and other material handling devices for manufacturing assistance. Must wear the required PPE for each assigned area.Qualifications Industrial manufacturing experience desired. Able to read and understand work instructions in English. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure. Education Preferred High School Diploma or GED. Physical / Work Environment Requirements Frequent bending, pushing / pulling, reaching and lifting periodically up to 75 pounds.
