Position Overview The Sr. Process Engineer is responsible for developing, implementing, reviewing, and improving the production process for products within the OCTE group. In this position, you will be designing, verifying, validating, and troubleshooting the processes. Perform feasibility and trade studies, cost analyses, and return on investment (ROI) and cost-to-benefit evaluations. Complete assigned engineering tasks on time and within budget. Organize, prepare, and/or conduct technical design reviews to ensure conformance with engineering design and performance specifications. Perform failure mode and effects analyses to establish and maintain stable processes. Establish and verify new product/process capabilities and new process parameters prior to release to production. Perform capability and variability studies on new and existing processes, equipment, and tools. Provide technical support and clear communications to all users of the process. Monitor and evaluate quality data and develop methods to improve quality levels. Troubleshoot manufacturing processes, techniques, and quality issues; develop corrective actions to maintain acceptable levels of productivity and quality. Collaborate with engineering, quality, manufacturing, operations, and internal and external supply chain personnel to diagnose issues and support continuous improvements. Drive continuous improvements in the areas of safety, quality, delivery, and cost. Support root cause corrective action activities using structured practices such as DMAIC or 8D. Qualifications Bachelor of Science in Manufacturing Engineering related science required. 10+ years of Process Engineering experience Previous experience with document control systems, engineering change orders and modification requests required. Lean / Six Sigma Certification and application of Lean / Six Sigma Body of Knowledge is a plus. Must be highly motivated and able to work independently. Proven track record of evaluating existing manufacturing processes and ability to re-engineer those processes to increase throughput, reduce downtime, improve safety, and enhance quality. Position Overview: A Tradesperson Class 2 in Material Control is responsible for understanding and adhering to basic inventory practices; use heavy equipment as necessary to ship and receive materials. This position works with minimal supervision and must be willing to work in all areas of the facility as needed. Position Overview: Senior Electrical Engineer; has responsibilities for the implementation of various Instrumentation and Controls projects with a focus on Automation, quality improvements, cost reduction throughout for the SCS, and OTS facilities. Responsibilities and Duties: Programming and troubleshooting of PLC and HMI programs using Rockwell RSLogix/Studio 5000, Rockwell PLC's 500 and Safety PLC's. Also, the high-speed motion, and positional controls using VFD's, DC, and Servos drives. Defining system architecture, component selection of PLCs, HMIs, Sensors (optical, proximity, ultrasonic), VFD & Servo drives and safety hardware. Update and integrate the plant-wide PLC and controls as needed. Understand and maintain the electrical portion of the manufacturing equipment in the factory, including PLC's, drive systems and controls, gauges, instrumentation. Provide calibration procedures and instructions for the above equipment. Assist Electricians, Technicians and Process engineers with troubleshooting production lines electrical and process problems. Support SubCom Quality and Manufacturing metrics goals. Maintain Manufacturing Equipment and Systems: Understand and maintain the electrical portion of the manufacturing equipment in the factory, including drive systems and controls, gauges, instrumentation, networked data acquisition equipment, and splice machines. Maintain Facility Power Distribution: Insure that the plant power distribution system is adequate for current and planned manufacturing activities. Recommends and oversees upgrades/improvements specifically focused on automation, process improvements, product quality, equipment reliability, and cost reductions. Working with applicable GMP, OSHA, NEC, NFPA, ANSI, and UL standards to ensure personnel, site, and systems safety requirements are met or exceeded. Updating production lines schematic and wiring diagrams using AutoCAD and updating calibration spims and technical manuals for Technician's and Electrician's support. Update and save the production lines PLC programs on a plant Network drive so that the backup is available when needed. Support EH&S Policies: Learn and support SubCom EH&S policies; insure that periodic department safety meetings are held to promote to promote safe work practices. Provide job specific electrical safety training as required. Support the use of LEAN Manufacturing tools in all areas of responsibility. LEAN tools should include 5S+1 in Office areas, and TPM on the manufacturing floor. Qualifications: BS in Electrical Engineering Minimum 10 years of electrical engineering or electrical maintenance experience in a factory environment. Prior supervision/management experience preferred. Knowledge and/or experience with drive systems, industrial controls, power distribution system, and lighting systems. Experience and/or knowledge of calibration methods. Familiarity with NEC and OSHA electrical codes. Knowledge of equipment preventive and predictive maintenance procedures. Strong communication skills, team leadership skills and ability to provide technical leadership. Highly self-motivated, organized, with excellent attention to details. Knowledge of document control software applications (such as DOCS OPEN). Basic computer skills (Word, Excel) writing instructions and reports. Drafting experience (AutoCAD or other) would be a plus. Position Overview: The Quality Engineer will primarily provide Quality Engineering services to electro-Optical Manufacturing Operations by supporting all areas encompassing, but not limited to, specification and drawing review, performing material and vendor qualification for new and existing vendors, process improvements, troubleshooting process issues and disposition of non-conforming product. The candidate will provide timely feedback to vendors, coordinate with process engineers and work with Supply Chain to ensure any material defects are addressed quickly through the MRB process. In addition, the role of a Quality Engineer is also to ensure Continuous Process Improvement and maximize customer satisfaction for internal and external customers. This will involve collecting, analyzing, and reporting KPI data for our manufacturing processes. Of key importance is the ability to quickly identify and correct negative trends. Responsibilities and Duties: Responsible for defining and control of the vendor qualification process. Continuous Improvement - Promote and Drive "Zero Defect" mentality within Manufacturing Operations with the use of Lean, Six-Sigma, Mistake Proofing, Measurement System Analysis, and Statistical Process control (SPC). Lead problem solving activities using a structured, disciplined approach. Customer collaboration / interface Periodic audits of Customer quality performance. Initiate and monitor Supplier Corrective Actions, escalate as necessary Supplier collaboration to help facilitate changes to supplier processes/products in a way that minimizes risk and impact to the company and its customers. Perform data analysis and compile reports on component issues and status. Support MRB, RFD, FMA and corrective-action processes as they apply to components. Primary point of contact for supplier activities. Perform, orchestrate or support supplier audits and line reviews. Participate in design, specification and drawing review processes. Participate in supplier evaluations and rating process. Introduce new and revised components into production. Support the component pedigree process. Support Design and Reliability in the supplier searches and selections. Initiate and support cost-reduction initiatives through design modifications and/or supplier process improvements. Demonstrated expertise in quality tools, practices and procedures. Fully conversant with QMS principals, certified as a quality Auditor is preferred. Experience in auditing both internal processes/systems as well as auditing of suppliers. Working knowledge of concepts of probability and statistics as well as aide in updating/establishing SPC studies. Excellent communication and coaching skills at all levels from the shop floor to top management. Proficiency and demonstrated ability to make independent, informed decisions.
