Minimum Requirements: MS in Nursing and minimum of 2 years of related experience with clinical emphasis for nurse practitioner; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background. Current unrestricted RN license and NP license in Texas required. Certification in a specialty or minimum of 1 year experience in a specialty area, such as cardiology, dermatology, orthopedics, etc. Satisfactory completion of a Tuberculosis test is a requirement for this position and Hepatitis B vaccine or signed waiver. Preferred Qualifications: FNP with 2 years of experience preferred. Infusion experience preferred. Direct Patient Care experience. The ideal candidate has approximately 2 years of inpatient Pediatric experience. Prior Infectious Diseases, Critical Care, Oncology, or Transplant experience is desirable, although not required. In this position, you will provide direct care and assume primary responsibility for the clinical management of Infectious Diseases service, including assisting with transitions of care from the inpatient to outpatient setting. Our inpatient service typically follows 10 - 25 patients and includes both immunocompetent and immunocompromised patients (solid organ, hematologic).As an integral member of the UT Pediatric Infectious Diseases Division, you will interact meaningfully with all levels of providers including students, residents, fellows, and faculty as well as other service lines such as our Pediatric Hospitalists, Critical Care Providers (PICU, NICU and Cardiac ICU) as well as surgical subspecialties. This intellectually challenging and stimulating service works closely with the Infection Prevention team, the Antimicrobial Stewardship team, and the Microbiology Laboratory.
