The PA will assist in the care of patients and assist indirecting staff in the support of care of patients. Location: Hartford, CTDescription: HEDIS Abstractor - Medical Assistant This job will have the following responsibilities: Candidate will work with the HEDIS team to collect member records and conduct reviews of these records by contacting providers and placing the results collected into a specific data base. Local travel may be required. This candidate will be required to handle a high volume of telephonic interaction with provider offices. Candidates must follow up on requested medical records with providers. Must keep excellent documentation of research and contact information. Candidate must pass a medical record abstraction test prior to starting actual record reviews. This is a high production environment and candidates must adhere to measured productivity requirements, module testing and at times retesting to meet minimum requirements. Sharing of department responsibilities as assigned. Must be flexible and willing to develop and share strategies to accomplish goals. Required to perform research on internal claims systems. Reviews require data analysis and research within the Anthem data systems. Candidates must have excellent skill set to read and interpret physician handwriting. Candidates must live within an acceptable commuting distance and reliable transportation is required. Work attire is professional casual. Well-established Orthopedic Group seeks to add a full time Physician Assistant. The new Physician Assistant will work directly with a Fellowship trained Orthopedic Surgeon. This position will include three days in the clinic and two days in the OR. This doctor has a very successful and growing practice and handles a high volume of lower extremity cases and fracture care. Responsibilities include: first assist, H&P’s, write scripts, coordinate with PT/OT, consultation, rounding, event coverage and discharge summaries. They are located in a modern facility and have their own PT/OT onsite. Also, there is an opportunity to work in orthopedic urgent care ($125 per hour). Call is paid and minimal.Successful Physician Assistants should be NCCPA-Certified. Also, the doctor will train a new graduate with an orthopedic rotation and preference is for candidates from the region. The location is within the greater Hartford area.
