Western Federal Credit Union is a member-owned financial cooperative that integrates the credit union motto "people helping people" in all our business decisions. We hold steadfast in the belief stated by the treasurer of a midwestern credit union back in 1935 when credit unions were helping Americans through the Great Depression, "not for profit, not for charity, but for service." Since the 2003 merger of equals with TRW Systems Federal Credit Union, Western is one of the nation's leading credit unions with over $1 billion in assets and over 119,000 members across the country. We have a diverse group of sponsor companies in our field of membership in industries such as information technology, service, airline, retail, manufacturing, and aerospace. Western, like all credit unions, has a volunteer Board of Directors who is elected by the members. To ensure the privacy of our members' Information, Western stands behind the following privacy policy: Information WESTERN Collects About You Western collects Information about you from the following sources: Information on applications and other forms and messages or e-mails received from you such as your name, address (including e-mail address), birth date, income, and social security number; Information about your transactions with us or others including those companies that work closely with us to provide you with diverse financial products and services such as your account balances, credit card usage, your payment history or parties to the transaction; Information received from consumer reporting agencies; Information obtained when verifying the information you provide on an application or other forms (this may be obtained from your current or past employers, or from other institutions where you conduct financial transactions) such as your payment history, information concerning your transactions and income; and Information obtained from consumer purchasing and census data providers, marketing researchers and public records such as your income, home ownership and marital status. Parties Who Receive Information From WESTERN Western does not sell any information relating to our members. In order to serve our members better and offer you diverse products and services, we may share all of the Information described above with: Companies that assist us in administering and bringing you our products and services. The Information shared with these companies typically includes information to process transactions on your behalf, conduct our operations, and follow your instructions as you authorize or protect the security of our financial records. These companies may include check and statement printing companies, mail houses, and data processing vendors; Businesses with whom we have a joint marketing agreement and we partner with to offer a broader array of products and services. These businesses typically include financial companies such as insurance companies, mortgage servicing companies, securities firms: Companies that perform marketing or other services on our behalf, Consumer and credit reporting companies; Any other affiliate or nonaffiliated third party, as permitted by law or upon your consent or request. We may disclose information when required by subpoena or other legal process in accordance with State and/or Federal law. WESTERN FEDERAL CREDIT UNION will protect your Information. We restrict access to Information about you to those employees who need to access your Information to maintain your accounts, meet your needs or to provide products or services to you. Our employees may also access your Information when considering a request from you for additional services or when exercising our rights under the law or any agreement with you. You're Covered With Courtesy Pay It can happen to anyone. You make an honest mistake in your checkbook, and suddenly you realize you don't have sufficient funds to cover all your outstanding checks. With Western's Courtesy Pay program, however, you can avoid some of the expense, hassle and embarrassment of an inadvertent overdraft. With Courtesy Pay, your Credit Union provides you with a pre-approved overdraft privilege of up to $750 for your checking account. If you overdraw your account, we may pay your overdrawn checks up to this $750 limit, including a $30 per-item fee. With Courtesy Pay... not pay merchant returned check fees will not pay collection agency fees for returned items avoid the embarrassment of items returned for insufficient funds You have additional protection for your good credit To get Courtesy Pay protection, you don't need to do a thing - you're already covered if you have a Western checking account with overdraft protection. If you've already established overdraft protection methods, such as a Western Signature Line of Credit, we will always look to pay any overdraft via these methods first. Courtesy Pay is just an additional layer of protection for you. If you do not want to be protected by Courtesy Pay, you may "opt-out" by requesting a form from our call center or by visiting a branch and signing an Opt-Out form. Remember, Courtesy Pay costs you nothing unless we actually pay an overdraft check for you. Please contact us for more information about Courtesy Pay, and find out about our other methods available for overdraft protection. Your Western membership must be in good standing to qualify for the Courtesy Pay program. Courtesy Pay overdrafts must be repaid within 15 days. We reserve the right to discontinue Courtesy Pay privileges at any time. Using Courtesy Pay may be more costly than other overdraft methods we may offer.
