Murphy USA opened its first retail store near a Sam’s Club parking lot in Chattanooga, Tennessee in December 1996. The rest, as they say, is history. Today, we operate more than 1,100 Murphy USA and Murphy Express stores in 23 states throughout the U.S. - a growth that speaks to Murphy’s commitment to quality fuels, convenient locations, discount gas and customer service.  We continue to have a strong partnership with Walmart — helping nearly 2 million customers every day get to where they need to go.  Low Prices & Friendly ServiceMurphy USA is dedicated to bringing our communities the highest quality fuels at the best possible prices. Our high volume, low cost operation has become synonymous with “Low Prices” and “Friendly Service.” Our core values guide our employees in serving customers and ensuring a friendly customer-oriented environment. Murphy ExpressIn November, 2006, almost a full decade after opening the first Murphy USA gas station, Murphy opened its first Murphy Express Store. Since that time, close to 100 Murphy Express stores have opened in eleven states. Murphy Express is a larger format convenience store. Based in El Dorado, Arkansas, Murphy USA is a wholly owned subsidiary of Murphy Oil Corporation — a publicly traded company on the New York Stock Exchange ("MUR"). Founded in 1950, Murphy Oil is an international oil and gas company that produces oil and natural gas in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Malaysia, and Republic of the Congo and conducts exploration activities worldwide. The company’s Murphy Oil USA, Inc. subsidiary operates the Murphy USA and Murphy Express retail gasoline stations. Murphy USA will become an independent company with its own Wall Street presence in 2013.
