Culture:

Childtime Learning Centers was originally founded in 1967 and became a division of Gerber Products Corporation in 1973. In 1990, the Gerber Children’s Centers were sold and were renamed Childtime Children’s Centers. The company officially changed the name to Childtime Learning Centers in 2002. Tutor Time Learning Centers originated in 1988 as a Florida-based privately held company. It began franchising in 1990 and became one of the largest franchisors of child care facilities in the United States. In July 2002, the assets of Tutor Time were acquired by Childtime, joining Tutor Time with the Childtime Learning Centers brand. In August of 2004, Childtime introduced a new parent company name, Learning Care Group, Inc., to better position the company for future growth. Then in January 2006, Learning Care Group shareholders voted to approve a cash merger by A.B.C. Learning Centres Limited, who is now the largest publicly traded child care service provider in the world. The company continued its growth and in September 2006 acquired Arlington, Texas-based The Children’s Courtyard. Today, The Children’s Courtyard operates schools in the Dallas/Fort Worth, Austin and Houston areas, serving children from six weeks to 13 years old. La Petite Academy, Inc. joined the Learning Care Group family shortly afterwards, in January 2007. La Petite Academy is headquartered in Chicago and operates more than 550 schools, including Montessori Unlimited schools, in 36 states and the District of Columbia. Most recently, the company was taken private with Morgan Stanley Private Equity purchasing a 60 percent stake on June 25, 2008. This joint venture allows us to continue our strategic growth plan and remain focused on providing the highest quality care across all of our brands.
