Facilities Supervisor

The Facilities Supervisor is responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing machinery, equipment, physical structures, and pipe and electrical systems in commercial or industrial facilities throughout the Arizona facilities. They are to ensure all repairs are documented and inspected for quality of craftsmanship and document the needs for each Arizona location, distributing the workload amongst the building maintenance team. They will also support training of level I, level II, and level III technicians. Essential Duties: Below are the various repairs the Facility Supervisor will review and inspect for overall safety compliance, Osha/EPA standards, as well as local municipalities. Dismantle machines and/or equipment and replace defective parts and motors Clean and lubricate machine parts such as shafts, pulleys, gears, and bearings Replace or repair machine belts Remove dust, dirt, grease, and waste material from machines Paint machines, equipment or building structures to prevent corrosion Bend and cut conduit and wire and drills holes in walls, floors, and ceilings for electrical connections Bend, cut, and thread pipe, cut openings in walls, ceilings, and floors for pipes, and seal pipe joints with sealing compound Connect wires to motors, fixtures, and other electrical equipment Replace switches and fuses and splice and insulate wire with appropriate material Cut out and join parts for worktables, benches, shelves, and other furnishings Patch or replace plaster or plaster board and paint walls, ceilings, and trim of building Clear clogged drains and replace plumbing fixtures Operate welding machine to repair or join metal parts Repair or replace damaged racks Cleans work areas, tools, and equipment Report all malfunctions on equipment and safety issues and/or unsafe practices immediately Other duties as assigned. Working closely with Production, Warehousing, and Maintenance in scheduling all sanitation activities. Ensure adequate sanitation supplies, including cleaning chemicals, cleaning tools, and safety equipment. Ensure that all written cleaning and sanitation procedures are up-to-date. Assist in the writing and updating of forms and SSOPs. Work closely with QA personnel to ensure effectiveness of cleaning practices. Respond to out of spec. environmental monitoring results promptly and effectively to ensure food safety. Documentation and record keeping: Master Sanitation Schedules, SSOP, chemical usage, chemical concentrations, etc… Keep all sanitation/safety training records. Assist in the filing of cleaning chemical labels and MSDSs. Plan staffing and resource needs for all cleaning and sanitizing activities. This lead role is responsible for overseeing a set of machines and performing various functions to ensure production runs smoothly and efficiently. Accountabilities Start up and shut down all machines, water, air, and material systems in work area. Perform setup for production changes to ensure everything is in line with customer specifications. This includes setting up brand plates and hot stamping machines, performing color and material changes, verifying and adjusting material blends. Perform work according to standards and verify that machine operators are following safety standards and product work instructions. Lead all safety initiatives in work area. Troubleshoot basic machine and processing problems. Monitor alternative material usage and verify machines are running to standard cycles. Ensure work cells are stocked with all necessary components (wheels, etc.). Review work orders and prepare setup for oncoming shift. May be asked to record scrap or other performance indicators. Effectively perform machine operator duties on any machine, filling in as needed and during breaks. Perform end of day duties before the next shift takeover. Properly complete all production paperwork. Maintain and oversee cleanliness and organization of work area (5S). Qualifications: High School diploma Previous experience as a team lead in a manufacturing environment. 2 yrs.
