Join our pioneering team and launch your career to new heights!SPACE SYSTEMS Rocket Lab's Space Systems team is responsible for every satellite and satellite component made by Rocket Lab: from complete satellites destined for missions to the Moon and Mars, to the individual components and subsystems that make up a satellite like solar panels, flight software, reaction wheels and star trackers, separation systems, radios, and more. Our Space Systems team is made up of engineers, technicians, and designers who design, create, and put together our own satellites for missions across the commercial, government, and defense sectors, or who build and assemble satellite hardware and software that supports other satellite missions. QUALITY TECHNICIAN I/II Based at Rocket Lab's site in Albuquerque, New Mexico the Quality Technician I/II is responsible for product quality assurance for your assigned product lines. You will support the Quality Manager with deliverables required for internal leadership, board of directors, and investors. (Please note: this position can be hired at the Quality Technician I or Quality Technician II level) WHAT YOU'LL GET TO DO: Perform final disposition of finished product (release to stock and outgoing QC) Evaluate production and test data against product requirements and operating protocols to determine final inspection status of product Prepare deliverable product data packages as prescribed by program/procedural requirements Perform process verification/audits as assigned Support Quality System training initiatives Deploy the Quality Management System as it applies to scope of work Other appropriate activities as assigned YOU'LL BRING THESE QUALIFICATIONS AS A QUALITY TECHNICIAN I: 2+ years of experience in a production/manufacturing environment High school diploma or GED YOU'LL BRING THESE QUALIFICATIONS AS A QUALITY TECHNICIAN II: 5+ years of experience in a production/manufacturing environment High school diploma or GED THESE QUALIFICATIONS WOULD BE NICE TO HAVE: Ability to read and interpret component and assembly drawings Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers and other employees of the organization Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand the English language Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance Ability to deal with standardized situations with flexibility to change in priority Familiarity with metrology equipment preferred Familiarity with AS9100 standard preferred Desire experience/previous exposure to design and manufacturing environment and implementation of protocol Detail-oriented and able to correctly generate, audit, and review documentation Computer proficient with ability to learn new software as required ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS: Standing for long periods of time, climbing up and down ladders, bending, grasping, sitting, pulling, pushing, stooping, and stretching may be required to perform the functions of this position Able to lift up to 25lbs. unassisted Must be able to climb ladders and be comfortable working in tight spaces.
