Job Description Summary The AR Specialist sets the tone for Sonesta's mission of "Wowing" our guests with Amazing Moments. The AR Specialist is responsible for the overall functioning of all accounts receivable, credit and collections for the Hotel.The ideal candidate has a passion for hospitality and going beyond for our guests and fellow employees.Job Description Work Environment Majority of work takes place indoors in an office environment. Physical Demands Must be able to exert up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. Frequently handling objects and equipment. Standing/sitting for extended periods of time and moving about the facility. Expected Hours of Work Must be flexible to work variable days of the week to include weekends and holidays. Must be flexible to work variable shifts (days, nights, overnights) . Education and Experience K nowledge of hotel Credit, Collection and Accounts Receivable . Two to three year's experience in a similar position in a hotel preferred. P rinciple duties and responsibilities (Essential Functions) include: Review of group and social function resumes to ensure all posting are posted. Liaison between Corporate and hotel to procure credit applications for future groups and social events and perform credit checks if necessary to ensure the least amount of risk for the Hotel . Review credit applications on an annual basis . Prepare and ensure invoices are sent in a timely manner , a udit invoices for accuracy and follow up on payment . Handle and resolve guest /group functions and credit card disputes (chargebacks) timely . Return all internal and external customer calls and resolve timely . Oversee the balancing of credit card activity . Including daily and monthly credit card collections to bank statements. Perform other reconciliations such as banquet, POS etc. Conduct and chair monthly Credit Meetings with pertinent managers to review current state of outstanding receivables and deposits . Review Accounts Receivable aging on an ongoing basis and recommend 'best course of action' to Financial Controller and General Manager . Prepare month-end adjustments with regards to Accounts Receivable .E nforcement of all credit policies . Track all tax-exempt activity and prepare monthly reconciliation . Attend meetings, backup other department staff as needed. Perform other duties as requested by management. Qualifications and Skills Professional verbal communication skills. Must have a high degree of professional integrity . Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software. Excellent p rioritization and time management skills . Ability to w ork quickly without compromising quality .
