Outpatient Therapist Adventures Program

Position Summary: Outpatient Counseling may include: Individual, family, and group therapy for a variety of mental health issues such as marital or family issues, parent-child relationship problems, separation and loss, sexual abuse, depression, anxiety disorders, bipolar disorders, and Attention-Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder. The MHP-Outpatient Therapist will work within our licensed outpatient clinics. REQUIREMENTS: Academic meets one (1) of the criteria below: Has a graduate degree from a college or university that is accredited by an agency recognized by the United States Department of Education or the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) in a generally recognized clinical discipline in which the degree program includes a clinical practicum; OR Has an equivalent degree from a foreign college or university that has been evaluated by the Association of International Credential Evaluators, Inc. Experience utilizing this treatment modality is preferred (art therapy, play therapy, animal assisted therapy, equine assisted interventions, etc.) An interest in experiential therapy specific to the resources available in the Adventures Program.  This may include working with horses, small animals, plants and the natural environment. A demonstrated ability to provide safe and effective application of both individual and group therapy utilizing experiential therapy. An ability to work independently or as a co-facilitator in groups. An ability to be flexible in meeting the needs of clients. This includes the ability to recognize and adjust experiences to maintain client confidentiality and client safety. An ability to be flexible in scheduling sessions and supervision to meet the needs of clients and Adventures programming. An interest in pursuing continuing education and/or certifications relevant to the Adventures Program services.  This may include certification in equine assisted therapy (such as PATH, Eagala, Natural Lifemanship etc.) horticultural therapy (such as AHTA, HTI etc.), or in adventure-based therapy. Previous experience and certifications preferred. An ability to work outdoors in changing weather conditions. Must have physical dexterity in order to perform activities related to experiential interventions.  For example, horse handling, lifting, twisting, turning, etc. in equine assisted therapy sessions. Physical Requirements: Must have audio/visual/verbal activity to provide clinical services to the clients and to perform essential job function. Emotional Requirements: Must have emotional stability to perform essential job functions. Horticultural Therapy Program Instructor (Seasonal)

Seasonal Horticultural Therapy Program Instructor This position will help to provide instruction of horticulturally themed activities during Adventures camps and other summer programming. The position also entails care of the plants in the greenhouse and gardens over the summer.  In addition to horticultural knowledge, candidates should possess good communication skills, creativity, be team oriented and an ability to work with groups with a variety of needs.   It is anticipated that a full-time Horticulture Program Coordinator position will be posted for the Fall and this position may apply to that posting.  ACADEMIC REQUIREMENTS: Bachelors degree in horticulture, agriculture, education, rehabilitation, human services, therapeutic recreation, environment studies or related field required. Director of Community Monitoring Program

POSITION SUMMARY: The Director of the Community Monitoring Program is responsible for the oversight of the Community Monitoring Program, the After School Program, the Summer Enrichment Program, the Warming Center, the Underage Drinking Education Program, the Courage to Change Program, the Drug Screening Program, and the FBI Fingerprinting Program. The Community Monitoring Program supervises Community Monitoring Supervisor and Specialists that monitor adults and juveniles that have been placed on electronic monitoring, alcohol monitoring, or drug screening as a condition of their probation. QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's degree in criminology or human service related field and 5+ years of management experience in program development and implementation, budgeting, policy and procedures, and program evaluation in the field of community corrections, juvenile justice, or human services.  Must possess demonstrated verbal and written communication skills as well as strong PC skills, including common MS Office applications. Demonstrated ability to be a team player required, including a capacity to work well under pressure. POSITION SPECIFIC CORE COMPETENCIES: Administer the policies and procedures necessary for the operation of the CommunityMonitoring Program, including scheduling adequate staff coverage and arranging for coverage during vacations, absences, etc. Participate in the agency hiring procedures of Community Monitoring Specialists andother program staff. Create Daily Operational schedules for the staff that accounts for appropriate program coverage during hours of operation Participate as a member of the management team that provides supervision and direction to the Community Monitoring Program staff. Mentor and train staff through role modeling and/or effective communication. Attend departmental meetings, professional trainings, workshops and conferences to ensure best practices. Develop and maintain positive relationships with referral sources and payers and actively participate in marketing the program.
