Our talented winemaking team is looking for harvest interns at all levels of experience and will provide a place for you to learn and grow. Those who perform best in this environment are flexible and take direction well, are quality-focused, have previous winery experience and/or an appreciation of food and wine.The ideal candidate will arrive at the job ready to perform the essential functions that drive our extraordinary winery production. This is a full-time, nonexempt (eligible for overtime) temporary position, scheduled Aug. - Nov. 2024. This position does not qualify for benefits.Qualifications/Requirements:We are looking for people with a passion for wine and great enthusiasm for crafting wines of exceptional quality. Prior harvest cellar experience, including crush operations, are a must and forklift experience is preferred, but not mandatory. ***Must be able to provide U.S. Work Authorization by the time of hire without current or future sponsorship.***Essential Work Requirements:Works well in a team setting but able to work on tasks alone as wellExperience with cellar proceduresExperience driving a forklift in a winery settingA strong attention to detail and ability to execute tasks in a timely mannerMust be able to lift and carry 50lbs and stand for long periods of time with or without reasonable accommodationsAbility to work long hours at peak times (up to 12 hours a day and 6-7 days a week)Dependability to show up to work every day and complete the tasks assignedA basic knowledge and understanding of the winemaking processThe responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to:- Managing fruit intake, including cleaning, receiving, processing and pressing- Racking and barreling down- Occasional lab analysis- Sanitation of winery and all winery equipment- Punch downs and/or pumpovers- Operation of crush equipment, pumps, and press- Forklift driving including bin unloading and dumping, barrel stacking, etc. (for those who are licensed)These daily tasks will be performed around a core of cleaning duties, preceded and followed by more cleaning; wash, rinse, repeat.*Applicants should be prepared to work a variable schedule and extended hours, including overtime, weekends, and holidays. The estimated timeframe for this position is from August through November.
