Still University's Arizona School of Dentistry & Oral Health (ATSU-ASDOH) is seeking applications for a full-time non-exempt Ortho Sterilization/Dental Assistant on the Mesa, Arizona campus. This position is responsible for sterilizing used instruments in regulation with OSHA and ATSU guidelines, checking instruments in/out of sterilization for dental students, residents, and faculty. Duties & Responsibilities: Complete all equipment sterilization on a daily basis. Maintain dental equipment inventory and supply control system as needed. Dispense and receive dental instruments to/from faculty, staff, and students. Deliver and pick up sterilization carts from Comprehensive Care Units. Practice proper PPE safety consistently. General administrative duties as assigned. Responsible for taking radiographs and i-Cat images as needed. Assisting orthodontic residents, students, and faculty while treating live patients. Ensuring the dental unit is stocked with supplies as determined by the Dental Assistant Supervisor and/or CCU Director. Will serve as a dental assistant floating to the clinic floor as needed, as well as clinic dispensary to cover vacations and absences as needed. The incumbent will float between chairside and sterilization. Skills & Experience: Some college or technical training is required. Experience chair-side assisting live patients. Familiarity with infection control procedures, sterilization protocol, OSHA standards, and HIPAA regulations. Previous inventory/supply room experience, supply chain experience, four-handed dentistry/orthodontic experience. DANB x-ray certification is required. CPR certificate. Basic computer experience (Email, Excel, Word, etc.), Digital x-ray & ICAT,Dolphin software experience.
