Engineer, Transmission System Planning (Hybrid)

The Engineer will work with complex systems and equipment, while providing engineering and technical services to support our growing organization\. Areas of expertise include designing new substations and infrastructure, analyzing systems and disruptions to service, working with transformers, engineering the electrical protection and control circuits that handles the flow of power, and dealing with acceptance testing of equipment, failures of equipment and analysis of system disturbances\. The first three months are fulltime in the office\. **Essential Functions:** + Supports development and maintenance of the system models for transmission studies under guidance of more senior Engineers\. This includes: - Collection and review of the forecast loads to be included in the model- Collection, modification, and review of a variety of electric system parameters including: equipment ratings, impedances, contingency sets, protection and control parameters, as well as system topology- Collection, modification, and review of DER modeling for steady state, stability, short circuit, and EMT analyses+ Performs DER transmission system impact studies in the entire Eversource service territories\.
