As the Senior Associate, Packaging Engineer you will be responsible for contributing to the technical development of new or revised packaging materials & products for SC Johnson. You will work on qualifying new products/packages, line extensions, and leading technical tasks related to different business needs driven by organizational and market requirements. The Outbound Associate ensures items that are purchased get packed and shipped safely and securely and in a timely and accurate manner. RESPONSIBILITY LEVEL: Demonstrates the ability to work independently and within a team environment. Ensures items that are purchased get packed and shipped safely and securely and in a timely and accurate manner. Maintain shipping obligations with all orders and maximize efficiency throughout processing. Utilizes innovation and expertise to assist with special projects, including training and mentoring of new associates.PRINCIPAL DUTIES: Pack, seal, label, and affix postage to prepare materials for shipping using hand tools, tape guns, postage scales, packing paper/bubble wrap, and other shipping tools and supplies. Examine shipment contents and verify correlating contents with records such for accuracy and quality, including pack sheets, invoices, and orders. Utilize Desktop Shipper shipping software accurately and efficiently to ensure all items are shipped using the most cost-effective carrier. Move materials as needed throughout warehouse facility to support shipping and transportation in loading/unloading area. Maintain production environment standards with a positive and team focused process, assuring optimal efficiencies. Meet or exceed daily productivity goals through the efficient handling of product; processing items quickly and accurately and rotate between stations on a regular basis. Maintain an organized and clean work area, follow safety procedures, uses PPE as needed and uses body mechanics when performing each task. Maintain confidentiality of sales information. Project and Change Management: Effectively plans and manages own work to reliably complete routine job responsibilities and special assignments. May serve as a team member or subject matter expert on formal projects or within the department. Effectively engages in change, communicating appropriately with supervisor.
