Position OverviewKLETC OVERVIEW:Hutchinson CampusThe Hutchinson Campus consists of 173 acres with fifteen buildings including two multi-story residential student dormitories. The Hutchinson Campus is home to the Kansas Law Enforcement Training Center (KLETC). A unit of The University of Kansas (KU), KLETC serves as the central agency for all law enforcement training in the State of Kansas. KLETC manages a $12 million annual budget, 62 authorized FTE staff (augmented by more than 400 contract/adjunct staff annually), and trains nearly 15,000 students annually in residential, online, and outreach programs. KLETC serves 437 recognized law enforcement and police agencies in Kansas, providing basic training and continuing education programs throughout each fiscal year. KU also offers employees education and professional development opportunities.Position Overview:Under the direction of the maintenance manager, performs routine custodial work on the KLETC campus. Job Description25%- Private Living Areas: Cleans student rooms weekly or as directed, following established procedures and schedule. Launders linens, and prepares beds with new linens and blankets, cleaning and replacing mattresses as directed. Moves and/or arranges furniture to the standard floor plan.20% - Entrances, exteriors, elevators, etc:Cleans a variety of resilient surfaces in public areas. Washes windows and rails as needed and per assigned schedules. Cleans fire extinguisher and first aid cases and reports damaged and/or missing equipment to supervisor. Assists with snow and ice removal. Locks and/or unlocks building doors-exterior and interior as directed and/or scheduled. Provides appropriate facility access to students remaining on campus after hours. 20% - Restroom Facilities: Cleans/sanitizes restroom fixtures including toilets, lavatories, floors, mirrors, counter tops, tile walls, partitions, showers, and hardware per assigned schedule and established procedure. Empties waste receptacles and replenishes consumable supplies. Cleans restrooms per established schedule while following standard procedures and safety precautions.20% - Common Areas, Offices and Classrooms: Vacuums, bonnets, and extracts carpeted floors and upholstered chairs using semi-automatic equipment. Uses specialized tools and equipment to clean hard surface floors using pail/chemical method and semi-automatic scrubbers that require skills and experience for proper and safe operation. Cleans public areas, offices and classrooms per established schedule while following standard procedures and safety precautions. 15% - Other duties as assigned.
