Must possess skills necessary to use computer diagnostic equipment. Physical Demands: Physical strength and ability to perform moderate to heavy manual labor, including frequent bending, walking, and heavy lifting, for extended periods under dirty and uncomfortable conditions and in all types of weather as necessary. Able to stand for extended periods of time and able to climb ladders or steps/stairs to get to equipment. Exerts up to 50 lbs of force frequently. Able to lift 65 pounds from floor to shoulder height occasionally. Ability to frequently exert the pound force limits for push/pull 50lb f (no wheels) or 100lb f (wheels). Must be able to drive service vehicle at least 80 continuous miles. Will be required on occasion to work more than 8 hours on shift. Other duties may be assigned.   Plans, organizes, direct and reviews work of one or more survey personnel engaged in surveying earth’s surface to determine precise location and measurements of points, elevations, lines, areas, and contours for construction, mapmaking, or land division. Researches and interprets previous survey evidence, maps, deeds, physical evidence, and other records to obtain data needed for property boundary surveys. Accurately calculates, records and reviews field gathered data so the information is clear and understandable. Reviews job specifications and prepares the best method of completing the field work in an efficient and safe manner. Ability to properly supervise the field personnel daily activity for efficiency and safety purposes. Determines methods and procedures for establishing or reestablishing survey control. Keeps accurate notes, records, and sketches to describe work performed. Be familiar with and able to mentor the proper usage of all survey instrumentation. Be confident enough in one's self and decisions to communicate effectively and deal with problems or people with little guidance from Registered Land Surveyor. Ability to use various amount of survey codes depending on clients standards. Ability to mentor the process of using linking codes to establish line work in the field for post process purposes. Ability to understand and use field and office CADD software to analyze field gathered input prior to provide data to CADD Technician for mapmaking. Ability to enter storm pipes and inlets; use tools such as shovels, sledgehammer, pick, cutting and power tools. Coordinates and reviews the work of survey technician (S1) and or Instrument Technician (S2). Qualifications What you bring to our firm: This position requires at least 3-5 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions,various survey documentation and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization. Handwriting skills and drafting knowledge need to be legible and neat in appearance for field notes. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and calculate traverse lines and general differential level runs. Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
