Responsibilities What you'll be challenged to do: TranSystems is seeking a Transportation Analyst intern for the Summer of 2024 interested in developing career skills in the following disciplines: Transportation planning Traffic Studies Roadway Design Successful candidates will work assisting our experienced Engineers by reviewing and performing calculations, developing design plans, learning industry software and CADD skills. This is a technical position intended for engineering students in their sophomore year of college or higher.   General Duties & Responsibilities: Foundational understanding of the consulting engineering business Team communication and collaboration for civil engineering projects Application of college course material in a real-world project Assembling engineering calculations in a project setting and applying the quality control process to those calculations Development of construction cost estimates and material and labor quantities used to estimate project costs Familiarity with Microsoft office suite including but not limited to Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access, and Teams Familiarity with industry and discipline specific software including drafting utilizing MicroStation and other Bentley products, and other engineering modeling software such as Synchro, HCS, and / or PTV Vissim Actively engages multiple perspectives when solving problems, seeks to learn from peers, and encourages reciprocal learning among team members.
