Employment Type:Part timeShift:Description:Monday, Tuesday, & Wednesday 8am - 4:30pm Position Purpose Radiation therapists operate machines, such as linear accelerators, to deliver concentrated radiation therapy to the region of a patient's tumor. Radiation treatment may shrink or eliminate cancers and tumors. Radiation therapists are part of the oncology teams that treat patients with cancer.What you will do:Warms up and performs QA tests on simulator, CT, BAT and treatment equipment followingestablished procedures prior to daily use. Reports any deviation to the physicist.Uses radiation detection equipment in a safe and careful manner.Inspects ancillary devices prior to use. Reports any problems to appropriate person.Verifies functioning of the radiation detectors.Checks blocks for proper orientation and accuracy before filming.Performs weekly QA on simulator and treatment equipment following established procedures.Assists in maintenance of the dark room. Report any problems to the appropriate person forcorrections.Maintains accurate records of all equipment service/function/maintenance etc.Performs microdosimetry within the first three treatments. Employment Type:Full timeShift:Day ShiftDescription:Position PurposePhysicist Radiation Oncology - oversee safety, assist Radiation Oncologists and Radiation Therapists with the planning of treatments, and are also responsible for ensuring that the equipment is correctly set up and calibrated when it is first installed. They also create, implement, and monitor advanced cancer radiation treatment technologies.What you will do:Is knowledgeable of and ensures that supervised Associates are knowledgeable of applicablecurrent compliance policies and procedures, laws and regulatory developments includingtheir responsibility to comply with applicable laws, regulations and Holy Cross Hospitalpolicies as a condition of employment, as well as reporting mechanisms such as thecorporate compliance hotline.Ensures that Associates complete compliance orientation and ensures and arranges forongoing specific risk training (applicable to the department) on a regular basisthroughout the year.Provides appropriate assistance regarding monitoring techniques to reasonably assurecompliance in supervised functional areas, including the submission of reports of suspectnon-compliance to the Compliance Officer so that further evaluation can be performed.Minimum Qualifications:Licensure* Current Therapeutic Radiological Physicist from the State of Florida license* American Association of Physicist in Medicine (AAPM) Certification required*Board Certification required* Master's degree in physics (M.S.)
