ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSWork with Traffic Engineer in the planning and preparation of Traffic and Transit Management Plans and appendices.Conduct studies, research, and data analysis, among others, relative to traffic, road construction and environmental impact.Act as project consultant and provide guidance in technical areas of traffic management during road construction.Provide/recommend/implement remedial measures to ensure project or process remains as scheduled.Implement policies, rules, and regulations in accordance with the Traffic and Transit Management Plan.Ensure full compliance to government rules and regulations pertaining to traffic and road construction.Monitor work progress in accordance with the Traffic and Transit Management Plan. REQUIRED SKILLS, EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:ATSSA Certified (or can become certified)A minimum of 10 years of related professional experienceStrong knowledge of traffic engineering and operational principles.Knowledge of construction, and construction of staging and phasing.Be able to manage and chair meetingsStrong computer skills (Microsoft Suite) and transportation computer applicationsAdept at collaborating and communicating with people from the public, subcontractors, construction workers and other professionals.Ability to coordinate with city officials and senior level management.Self-starter and ability to work with minimal supervisionAbility to make key decisions and get the work doneWriting skills to compile, review and edit project related documentsPreferred Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering (preferred)

Principal/Essential Duties & ResponsibilitiesDirectly supervises employees in the Structures Crews DepartmentConfers with and directs supervisory personnel and subcontractors engaged in planning and executing work procedures, interpreting specifications, and coordinating various phases of construction to prevent delays.Orders procurement of tools and materials to be delivered at specified times to conform to work schedules.Confers with supervisory and engineering personnel and inspectors and suppliers of tools and materials to resolve construction problems and improve construction methods.Inspects work in progress to ensure that workmanship conforms to specifications and the adherence to construction schedules.Prepares or reviews reports on progress, materials used and costs, and adjusts work schedules as indicated by reports.Directs workers concerned with major maintenance or reconditioning projects for existing installationsCost controlAttend coordination and production meetings with the PM to develop activities and amend possible problems related to structuresPerforms other related duties as required and assigned.
