You may also represent the firm through community involvement and events.Duties & ResponsibilitiesPrepare or review a diverse variety of complex returns for our high-net-worth clients and their personal holdings, which includes preparation or review of personal, partnership, corporate, trust, foundation, and gift tax returns, and related tax work papers.Consult with our estate/gift tax subject matter experts to develop income and estate/gift tax planning strategies for our clients.Ensures both that (a) clients comply with all applicable authorities, while at the same time minimizing their tax and reporting burdens, and (b) self and client service teams comply with all SKR+CO policies & standards.Identifies when research is needed; clearly and concisely frames issues to be researched; and clearly and concisely reports the analysis.Assists with developing, recommending, and implementing efficient and effective methods to maximize client benefits, especially by decreasing clients current and future taxes.Applies the combination of tax knowledge and knowledge of business/industry to recommend solutions while maximizing client benefits, especially by decreasing client taxes, and also managing risk.Introduces and develops new or improved ideas to improve the position of clients, the Firm, or Firm personnel, e.g., by reducing taxes or expenses or providing non-tax benefits.May train and mentor managers/seniors/associates on specialization areas, research skills, and helps to appropriately frame tax issues for analysis.Consistently makes suggestions as to how work products, approaches, and/or processes can be improved.Performs other duties as assigned.CompetenciesSuperior verbal and written communication skills.Ability to effectively delegate work as needed.Strong analytical, research, and critical thinking skills as well as decision-making skills.Capacity to work well in a team environment.Capable of developing and leading a team of tax professionals.Ability to compose written tax advice.Capable of effectively developing and maintaining client relationships.Executive presence and ability to act as primary client contact for preparation and presentation of issues and resolutions to clients.Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and Adobe Acrobat.Experience with tax research databases such as Thomas Reuters and RIA.Proficient in tax compliance software including, GoFileRoom, GoSystems, SafeSend, Sure Prep, Depreciation, and standard tax workpapers.How You Can GrowUnlike traditional accounting firms, at SKR+CO you create your own personalized career paths.
