The SILP provides resources for youth aged 18 to 20 who are experiencing challenges as they transition to adulthood. All youth are referred to us through ACS. Our residents have experienced significant trauma, resulting in behavioral and emotional issues. The program provides physical and emotional support, family connections and visitation, educational, social and clinical support and opportunities, age appropriate recreational activities, and aftercare planning for youth and young adults.The Behavioral Health Clinician is a key member of the therapeutic team. He/She/They are responsible for supplying necessary, culturally sensitive clinical interventions within the realm of the program. The Behavioral Health Clinician works closely with the director, case manager, medical staff and programming manager to ensure appropriate evaluations and treatment interventions for the youth. Some responsibilities include, but are not limited to:Meet with assigned residents for weekly sessions, engage and remain in contact with their parents, ensure home visits are conducted, vocational/ Educational, psychiatric, recreational services are provided. Identifying and providing access to specific concrete services and community resourcesEngage families in planning for service Identifying and providing access to specific concrete services and community servicesAdvocate, as necessary, with external resources such as mental health providers, treatment facility, community members etc. on behalf of the residentsProvide individual and family counseling both on-site and through telehealth Provide support to youth who identify as LGBTQAI+.Liaise between program, family court, ACS, case planners, youth's family members, and relevant community members. Incorporate DBT skill building into work with youth and their families. Attend other planned ACS and school conferences, as well as court hearings.Other duties as assigned.
