POSITION TYPE: Full time, on-site LOCATION: Amherst, MARESPONSIBILITIES Work closely with the technical team to design and conduct optical experiments and evaluation of Myrias' products and prototypes Document, analyze, and report test data from optical experiments Develop scripts for automation of data capture and analysis Maintain detailed documentation of test procedures and scripts Assist with the design and assembly of Myrias' components Assist in the development, production, and testing of Myrias products Support acquisition of key equipment and components for experiments and Production test Assist in providing customer support for shipped products and prototypesQUALIFICATIONS Minimum of a Master's degree in optics or equivalent technical discipline, Ph.D. Preferred 5+ years of experience conducting optical experiments (e.g. development of optical characterization systems and analysis of diffractive optics, imaging/3D Imaging systems, optical waveguides, laser systems, etc.) Programming experience to automate data capture (e.g., interfacing with cameras, monitors, mechanical actuators) and analysis Strong understanding of ray optics, diffraction, and imaging system metrics Experience with document control best practices Strong interpersonal and technical communication skills Familiarity with CAD design packages (e.g., SolidWorks or AutoCAD) and experience with machine shop and 3D printing technologies are desirable Familiarity with imprint or nanofabrication processes and cleanroom experience are a plus Ability to bridge technology development with commercial demands Familiar with the startup or early-stage business environment Entrepreneurial spirit, with a hands-on, roll-up-the-sleeves mentality WHAT WE OFFERCompetitive Compensation Package, including equityFull Medical and Dental plansInsurance: Company paid disability insurancePaid time off: Vacation and sick timeEEO StatementMyrias Optics is proud to be an Equal Employment Opportunity and Affirmative Action employer.
