Installs, customizes, supports, and creates integrations for vendor-supplied software systems. Works on a team and collaborates with specific departments, colleges, and customers around campus. Acts as a consultant in residence. Works directly with a single department as the primary resource to support the department's IT needs, troubleshooting and resolving issues, and responding to their questions and concerns in a timely manner, under the supervision of centralized IT in OIT. As a member of central IT, this position will have access to a department of professional IT resources who can assist when necessary. Manages the department's reporting needs, pulling data from various systems, such as Cayuse and Ellucian's Banner ERP.Required Minimum Qualifications: Master's degree and two (2) years of IT programming experience; OR bachelor's degree and four (4) years of IT programming experience; OR associate's degree and six (6) years of IT experience to include four (4) years of IT programming; OR High school diploma or GED and eight (8) years of IT experience to include four (4) years of IT programming.Skills and Knowledge: Knowledge of programming, with languages such as C#, .NET, PHP, Oracle PL/SQL, or Java. Base knowledge of managing Windows Server applications, including IIS management and configuration and a base knowledge of Linux commands.Preferred Qualifications: Three (3) years of experience in relevant IT fields (development and maintenance of software applications, relational database management systems, computer programming, web development, or system administration). High level of experience supporting or working with higher education and University of Alabama administrative applications and tools, such as Cayuse and Ellucian Banner.
