Location: Vernon Hills, ILSalary: $120,000.00 USD Annually - $180,000.00 USD AnnuallyDescription: The Judge Group searching for a Director, Food Safety & Quality Assurance. The Director of FSQA will lead aspects of food safety and quality assurance throughout the organization. You'll conduct routine sanitation checks, ensuring that HAACP and USDA regulations are strictly enforced. Providing technical expertise to track product from start to finish, and develop corrective actions when needed. You will be responsible for ensuring that we are able to safely deliver the best product brands to customers and consumers.Responsibilities:Manage and continue refine all Quality and Food Safety systems.Own all food safety and quality related relationships with internal and external partners.Lead all FSQA risk assessment activities in support of product innovation and optimization.Ensure compliance with all GFSI, FDA, USDA and state/local food safety regulations.Outline validation and verification activities for RTE products and processes.Build and oversee the budget of the Food Safety and Quality Assurance functional area.Oversee the QC testing program for all raw materials and finished goods.Stay current on developments in Food Safety regulations and guidance.Manage the teams responsible for auditing manufacturing locations and raw material suppliers.Promote a team culture focused cross-functional collaboration to ensure excellence in FSQA.Provide high level summaries and key recommendation and any issues related to FSQA.Lead all activities related to product traceability.Routinely audit internal systems to ensure program compliance.Qualifications:10+ years of technical food safety experience required. Utilize the Cutting Tool to manage production and minimize shrink. Stay current on ads and inform and educate department associates on current, upcoming and special in-store promotions. Help to maintain merchandising plan and maintain standards. Maintain an awareness of inventory/stocking conditions; note any discrepancies in inventory. Ensure proper price integrity on shelf tags and promotional signs. Comply with all Country of Origin Labeling. Assist when needed in the inventory process. Ensure proper temperatures in cases and coolers are maintained and temperature logs are maintained. Practice preventive maintenance by properly inspecting equipment and notify Store Manager of any items in need of repair. Report all safety risks, issues, customer or employee accidents and illegal activity, including: robbery, theft or fraud.
