Initiates, implements, and prescribes appropriate treatment plans using established protocols and consulting with the physician as needed.Performs or requests laboratory and screening tests. Conducts preventive screening procedures based on age and history.Accurately records changes in health status and assessment findings, documenting actions in a clear, concise and timely manner. Determines the effectiveness of the plan of care and revises as necessary to achieve medical and health goals. Documentation includes update of treatment procedures, medication refills, test results, patient concerns, etc. What We Require:Education: Graduate of an Accredited School of Nursing and Nurse Practitioner Program, including preceptorship required.Experience: One to three years experience preferred. Additional experience may be required for some specialties.Licensure/Certification: Current state Licensed Nurse Practitioner (NP), DEA license and Registered Nurse (RN) licensure required. AHA BLS-HCP certification required. Advanced Life Support certification preferred.Other: Eligible for prescriptive authority in accordance with State regulations and as authorized by the Virginia Boards of Nursing and Medicine.
