A primary responsibility of this position is to monitor fleet vehicle equipment maintenance, registrations, licensing, warranty, fixed assets, asset disposals, invoicing, record retention and fuel. To do this, the incumbent uses current Fleet Automotive software, preventative maintenance techniques, reviews the results, monitors repairs, and performs vehicle audits to ensure mechanics adhere to safety, regulatory and appearance standards. This position analyzes equipment or vehicle system failures to determine root causes, resolve problems and plans/coordinates equipment repairs with internal/external groups (e.g., drivers, vendors). Another major area of responsibility is to maintain automotive cost effectiveness. Purpose of Role The purpose of this role is to oversee all warehouse and shipping activities in a plastic injection molding production facility. This includes receiving raw materials and other items and ensuring timely customer shipments of finished goods. This individual will be responsible for inventory accuracy and maintaining and standardizing cleanliness standards and organization in the warehouse and shipping docks. The Shipping Supervisor will interact with delivery drivers, organize a team of shipping associates, manage storage trailers in the lot, and drive improvement within the department. Areas of Accountability • Supervise the delivery of a range of raw materials and finished goods to ensure all goods and supplies are stored and recorded following established procedures. • Manage Shipping/Warehouse related documentation and records (general production & compliance related). • Coordinate unloading of inbound shipments, orderly stacking of product, and picking and staging of outbound shipments. • Provide concise reporting to management on shipping/warehousing performance, issues, and actions. • Develop clear and easy to follow warehouse processes that drive consistency and accountability. • Move goods as necessary, including loading and unloading of trailers. Manage Inventory • Ensure materials and finished goods are organized and prepared to facilitate month end inventory counts. • Manage requests for inventory counts throughout the month as needed by production or the planning team. • Implement and manage Kanban inventory levels. • Audit shipping/warehouse related work and core processes for adherence and improvement purposes. Safety & Quality Focus • Follow all standardized shipping procedures and collaborate with Quality department to ensure zero shipping related quality issues. • Respond to assigned issues and ensure that root cause is determined, and corrective actions are implemented to drive improvement. • Ensure shipping associates follow all safety procedures and use appropriate PPE. • Ensure compliance with forklift safety procedures, daily inspections, and report equipment issues. Knowledge, Skills, and Experience • High School Diploma or equivalent • Managerial Experience - Basic experience of coordinating the work of others (6 - 12 months) • Able to work weekends when needed. • Strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills. • Excellent analytical, problem solving and organizational skills. • Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel. • JD Edwards (ERP) experience is a plus. • Spanish fluency is a plus.
