The Casualty Claims Supervisor is responsible for supervising claim adjusters and for the investigation and settlement of all claims assigned to the unit. They will also select and train personnel and complete actions such as salary adjustments, performance ratings, promotion, etc.Essential Functions and ResponsibilitiesDirect and control the work of claim adjusters in the investigation, evaluation and negotiation of first and third party bodily injury claims based on severity, production and volume.Comply with company philosophy, guidelines, and programs.Approve or disapprove reserve adjustments and expense bills.Provide settlement authority, outside of the Casualty Evaluator program.Regularly communicate with defense counsel.Perform quality reviews of all aspects of file handling to identify trends and provide direction for future actions. Conduct training on a group or individual basis as necessary.Set standards and maintain accurate records to develop all relevant unit performance and individual performance statistical data to fairly evaluate and administer claim adjusters' performance handling.Report regularly to upper management regarding results of unit's performance and work conditions.Make recommendations for promotion, staff changes, and salary.Assist and work closely with the Claims Director and Senior Tech to attain objectives and complete special projects.Other duties as assigned.
