EMSLRC Instructional Service Specialist

The Emergency Medical Services Learning Resources Center (EMSLRC), Instructional Service Specialist, provides instruction and support to faculty, staff, and students for the purposes of training and educating basic, intermediate and advanced-level emergency medicine courses (i.e., BLS, ACLS, PALS, EMS initial education). Instruction and support include, but is not limited to the design, development, selection, adaption, maintenance, and knowledge of current classroom/online assessment, curriculum, and presentation for all programmatic-related elements. Position Responsibilities Instruct, Train, Consult, Support: Coordinate the operation of and/or serve as the primary or secondary instructor for EMS initial education programs, EMS refresher programs, American Heart Association (AHA) and other nationally recognized course(s) as assigned. Consult and collaborate with faculty, staff and external agencies regarding instructional needs and the application of instructional design and tools in the delivery of instruction. Schedule adjunct faculty, staff instructors, and contract instructors as needed for courses in the area of responsibility. Evaluate candidates participating in state and national certification psychomotor examinations. Provide the EMSLRC Director and Medical Director with regular updates regarding student progression.
