ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following: o Work directly with current Clients and potential prospects; apply technical knowledge to identify vehicle requirements and be responsible for recommending and implementing custom upfit vehicle solutions o Provide technical expertise to build vehicle/equipment specifications and submit quotes to chassis/upfit suppliers o Work concurrently on one or more portfolio projects of moderately complex scope o Support a portfolio of customers with varying degrees of complexity (number of customers dependent upon volume & complexity) o Work with OEM supply chain to facilitate a competitive bid process to ensure customer requirements are delivered accurately and cost effectively o Deliver advice and counsel on industry issues that could affect clients i.e. regulatory (DOT, IFTA, IRP), fuels, taxes, Licenses (CDL), resale o Act as a technical liaison between Client, Account Management and suppliers to resolve issues or design solutions o Support company quality initiatives, including all efforts associated with lean six sigma methodology o Train new hires, including technical training, instruction, and/or guidance within area of responsibility o In a consultative role, participate in Client visits and deliver presentations when asked o Participate in Supplier visits and training o Maintain strong working knowledge of: o Truck and equipment models and specifications o Supplier network, services, lead times and performance o Map vehicle order workflow to ensure satisfactory results o Upfitters bailment pools and their inventory o Wheels internal operating procedures o Federal & State Emission standards o Laws affecting the operation of trucks and equipment o Utilize all systems available to plan, manage, and effectively work client orders o Provide support to other members of the Truck team o Achieve internal operating metrics o Support Wheels' efforts towards 100% client retention o Up to 25% travel to field sites o Other duties may be assigned SKILLS/COMPETENCIES: o Mechanical experience and aptitude o Knowledge of Class 1-8 trucks & equipment plus a variety of aftermarket equipment/industry configurations o Working knowledge of chassis acquisitions \ OEM's, Dealer's & Bailment Pools o Experience specifying and quoting Class 1-8 trucks and equipment o Ability to apply lean principles to daily processes o Ability to effectively present information; ability to explain how and why specific conclusions were reached. o Ability to maintain confidentiality o Strong analytical organization and problem solving skills and a bent toward detail orientation o Professionalism in all activities o Good verbal and written skills o Intermediate Microsoft Word and Excel skills o Effective relationship building skills BEHAVIOR QUALIFICATIONS: o Adaptability - Maintain effectiveness when experiencing major changes in the work tasks or the work environment; adjusting effectively to work within new work structure, processes, requirements, or cultures. o Critical Thinking - skilled at taking an objective analysis and evaluation of an issue in order to form a judgment, including situational awareness instincts and develop a decisive decision/solution. o Proactive - Take prompts action to accomplish objectives; take action to achieve goals beyond what is required; be proactive. o Problem Solver - Identifies and uses effective approaches for choosing a course of action or developing appropriate solutions. TECHNICAL QUALIFICATIONS: o Communication Expertise - Clearly conveys information through a variety of media to individuals or groups in a manner that engages the audience and helps them understand and retain the message in both positive and negative circumstances. o Computer Expertise - Basic knowledge of Microsoft software such as Windows, Access, Word, Excel and Outlook. Adept at using tools like v-lookup, pivot tables, and modifying access queries and tables. o Decal Expertise - Basic knowledge of installation, source materials, kitting and templating and workflows; experience with fleet graphics, wraps, stickers, and decals. o Logistics Expertise -Basic knowledge of transportation industry and dealing with dealers and upfit suppliers. o Process Expertise - Possess strong working knowledge of Wheels internal procedures and operating systems to effectively navigate orders and resolve issues. o Truck Expertise - Mechanical knowledge of Class 1-8 trucks required. Experience in automotive repair and /or unfitting a plus. EDUCATION: o Bachelor degree or certification in an automotive or engineering discipline o 3 years related work experience with light duty truck and van, after- market truck applications (service bodies, hoist etc) and equipment (back-up cameras, ladders, tool boxes,, snow plough) o 10 years related work experience with medium and heavy duty truck, after- market truck applications (service bodies, cranes etc) and equipment (forklifts, trailers, snow plough) o Experience specifying and quoting trucks & equipment o TMI accreditations, Course 3 preferred PHYSICAL DEMANDS: o Employee is required to speak, hear, and see, use hands and fingers for computer keyboard, and phone, and move around frequently to assist co-workers o Must be able to interact with internal and external customers o Able to maneuver around vehicles with little physical effort EEO Statement Wheels is a Drug-Free Workplace.
